Join us on 23rd June 2018 for a multi-route cycle tour of drill sites in Surrey and West Sussex. 3 cycling routes of differing lengths to suit a range of cycling abilities. The shortest route is 16 miles with lots of stop offs en route; you can join us for all of the ride or just a section.
The day will be a celebration of pedal power and communities coming together to resist oil drilling in the Surrey and Sussex Weald . It will also give people the opportunity to see the changes being made to the landscape by the oil and gas industry, and to learn about upcoming plans at the various locations.
Le Tour De Frack will start at Meadowbank, a community park in Dorking in easy walking distance from the rail stations. Meet at the duck pond. Look out for the yellow ribbons to guide you. The tour gathers at 9.30am and takes off at 10am with a family friendly gathering to wave off the cyclists and / or to join in the ride. There will be many stops en route with greeting parties and of course cake. The final stop at the end of the day will be at Leith Hill Protection Camp for food and music.
If cycling is not your thing, please join us instead at ‘Gatherings at the Gates’ to cheer the cyclists on and to come together for refreshments, music, fun, games, information sharing and of course the obligatory cake-fest.
